Once home Brodie jumped right in to "help" get the tree in place and with the lights and such. Too cute! He thinks he can do it all. :) Kaleia helped too and it didn't take long to get everything up and in place. When all the "safe" decorations (i.e., ones that couldn't hurt Brodie or couldn't be destroyed by him...although he still managed to rip one to shreds) were hung on the tree, Kaleia insisted on putting the star on the top (perhaps a new tradition was started!). When Young put her down from putting the star on top she said, "Mama, what do you think of our tree? It's the perfect tree! Now all we need are some presents!" (Guess she's understanding some of what happens at Christmas.)

Christmas lights and trees
Our house has been decorated for Christmas since the beginning of the month, but we always wait to get our tree until mid-December to avoid having a dried out tree before the holiday. This past week we ventured out to find "the perfect tree". I've realized in the last couple of years that the goal is really to find a decent looking tree and hope for the best. Kids and hours of hunting do not go well together, so I think we did fairly well this year in only considering about five trees before going with this one. Trees always look better at home once they get some decorations on them! The kids honestly didn't really care about the tree until in was in our house which was kinda funny. They had more fun playing with the ties used to keep the trees wrapped up.
Once home Brodie jumped right in to "help" get the tree in place and with the lights and such. Too cute!
