So I know it's been ages since I posted anything. Life has been busy! More on that later...for now you will have to make do with this little story. :)
The other day we were at Grandma and Grandpa Clark's house having dinner and such. Young and I were sitting in the living room talking with Wendy and Noel while the kids played hide-and-go-seek with Grandpa. Brodie has only recently started to understand that you are looking for someone, but Kaleia has a blast playing this game. (Not the best at hiding yet, but she's still young!) Anyway, so she and Grandpa were taking turns hiding and Brodie was following along behind whichever person was "seeking" and laughing and attempting to get in on the fun. Kaleia had just been "found" so it was Grandpa turn to hide. He went to hide and Kaleia started counting. When she was done she started off to go and look for Grandpa with Brodie in tow. She kept walking through the kitchen and then back into the living room asking us each time if we had found Grandpa. We kept telling her that we had not seen him, but she continued this pattern several times. Then we all heard a knocking sound. (It was Grandpa giving her clues to follow.) Kaleia kept "not hearing" the knocking because she kept telling us that she couldn't find him. Finally she stopped talking long enough to hear the sound and started off to follow it. However, she wouldn't walk down the long hallway in their house because it was dark (She is a little scared of the dark these days.). Since Brodie was with her, she proceeded to give him gentle "pushes" to have him go down the hallway to find the sound. He wasn't too thrilled with being pushed into the hallway and started to fuss. It wasn't until I got up that any of us realized what she had been doing though, so after turning on the hall light, we all started to laugh at what had just taken place! After a couple of trips down the hallway and back Kaleia still reported that she couldn't find Grandpa! (By now it's been almost ten minutes that poor Grandpa has been hiding.) I guess she had given up on finding him because she walked back into the living room and announced, in a very manner of fact way, "Oh well, I guess he just disappeared!" And with that she turned and walked out of the room! All four of us just roared!!! It was as if she had decided that he had really disappeared and was no where to be found! So funny! We quickly convinced her to go look again in the bathroom and she and Brodie found their Grandpa hiding in the shower! :)
